FROM A COMPLETE SYSTEM TO A SPARE PART
In addition to development and production, we of course also offer original IFU spare parts for all components. Our specialists will also be happy to assist you with assembly.
CUSTOMISED SERVICE AND TRAINING
To round off our profile, we also offer a complete range of professional service, support and training. We can offer our customers products and solutions tailored to specific needs and for a wide range of industrial sectors. We ensure that all our services are precisely tailored to individual requirements.
Tailored to the needs and installation requirements of the customer in question, we supply our specially developed service package with corresponding components, e.g. anti-icing, vacuum-relief/pressure-relief flaps, lighting, pressure transmitters and steel construction.
If necessary, the acoustically effective part can also be installed in the associated suction piping. In cases where the acoustic requirement is rather low, it can be omitted completely.
WE DIFFERENTIATE HERE BETWEEN:
-
Multi-stage / static filter systems
-
Intake ducts
-
Combined systems with integrated silencer
Filter intake systems usually consist of a two-stage filter system, which may be fitted with a downstream absorption silencer, depending on the air quality and acoustic requirements.

SILENCERS
The varying acoustic requirements in the process require customised solutions in terms of the silencers used.
Depending on the application, we design our suction, pressure and blow-off silencers according to the absorption, expansion or reflection damping principle. We may use a combination of different damping principles, depending on the area of application and the acoustic requirements.
ABSORPTION SILENCERS
Absorption silencers work according to the absorption damping principle. This means that the sound energy within the gas flow is converted into thermal energy through friction with the absorption material of the silencer.
EXPANSION SILENCERS
With the expansion damping principle, the sound energy in the gas flow is transformed and reduced by the change in state of the medium in the silencer.
REFLECTIVE SILENCERS
(Resonators / λ/4)
Resonators work according to the reflection damping principle. Here, the sound waves are reflected within a certain frequency range in the silencer. Due to the exact calculation of the dimensions of the reflecting chambers, the reflected and the original sound waves cancel each other out. These silencers are particularly suitable for dusty media.
SUCTION SILENCERS
Housing made of P265GH with paint,
Galvanized fittings, including insulation
SUCTION SILENCERS
These silencers are used, for example, on the intake side of compressor systems.
We generally tend to distinguish between pressurised and atmospheric intake silencers. In contrast to atmospheric intake silencers, pressurised silencers are subject to approval – e.g. in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
Depending on the destination, their manufacture must comply with the required regulations, such as the PED, AD data sheets, EN 13445, ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, U-Stamp, China Stamp (SQL), EAC and others.
Variations in materials used:
Carbon steel, stainless steel or plastic
PRESSURE SILENCERS
Material 1.4571
PRESSURE SILENCERS
Pressure silencers are used to reduce the noise level within the piping downstream of a machine. These silencers are pressure vessels.
Depending on the destination, their manufacture must comply with the required regulations, such as PED, AD data sheets, EN 13445, ASME Section III, Div. 1, U-Stamp, China Stamp (SQL), EAC and others.
Variations in materials used:
Carbon steel, stainless steel
BLOW-OFF SILENCERS
according to a combined expansion, absorption and damping principle with additional mass coupling by means of a sand jacket, material S 235 JR, with additional coating in C4H, acoustic fittings made of stainless steel 1.4541
BLOW-OFF SILENCERS
The blow-off process can generate a sound power level of over 150 dB(A) – an enormous burden for people and the environment. However, blow-off silencers minimise the noise levels generated by blow-off valves and shut-off flaps in accordance with the statutory requirements.
An integral part of the blow-off silencer is a pressure-relief device that serves to reduce the pressure.
Approval in accordance with the PED is not required, as blow-off silencers are not pressure vessels.
Variations in materials used:
Carbon steel, stainless steel or plastic
EXHAUST SYSTEMS
IFU is an expert point of contact when it comes to the production of new and complex exhaust systems and individual system components, as well as the overhaul of existing systems.
EXHAUST-SIDE SOUNDPROOFING
The demands regarding the exhaust-side soundproofing of a gas turbine are especially high. The temperature of the exhaust gases of gas turbines can reach 450 to 600 °C. In addition to compliance with the legally prescribed levels of noise emissions, it is therefore also important to consider the use of special materials.
These exhaust systems are individually tailored to the customer's requirements and essentially consist of the following components:
-
Exhaust duct / exhaust manifold
-
Exhaust silencer
-
Exhaust gas stack
NOISE PROT. ENCLOSURES
If noise cannot be avoided at the point of origin, the spread of the sound can often only be reduced by using a noise protection enclosure. It encases the source of the noise.
CUSTOMISED OVERALL CONCEPTS
Depending on their acoustic requirements, we develop an individual overall concept for each customer. We can design enclosures for both indoor and outdoor installations.
WELL THOUGHT-OUT TECHNOLOGY
For optimum acoustic results, we recommend installing the machine with vibration isolation. Our noise protection enclosures generally equipped with sound-insulated air supply and exhaust systems.

CONSULTATION
ALL YOUR COMPONENTS FROM ONE PROVIDER.
Customised technology requires all the conditions to be precisely recorded and analysed before proceeding – measuring all the parameters is therefore an integral part of the consultation that we offer.
ACOUSTIC MEASUREMENTS AND CALCULATIONS
In order that we can draw on sound data, our development work is preceded by extensive acoustic measurements and calculations. We then design a 3D view of the systems using the latest CAD systems and create the acoustic and mechanical design of our products in line with your requirements.
STATICS AND ENGINEERING
In addition to strength calculations and structural analyses, we design the engineering in accordance with the required regulations and customer specifications.
